Plumbing Program — Build a Career in the Trades
Learn the full scope of residential and commercial plumbing in just 4 months. Our weekend program covers everything from pipe installation to code compliance, with a $2,450 tool kit included.
What will you learn
Hyphen School will train you to become a Plumber's Apprentice in 4 months. Classes run two days per week, which allow our students to continue working during their training as a plumber.
This program will build your foundational base as a plumber and prepare you for apprenticeship. After the four month program, you will continue your learnings on the job. At the 8,000 hour mark, you will have earned the required experience hours to become a licensed journeyman or plumber in the State of Florida.
Why Hyphen is Different
Hyphen offers one of the top eLearning platforms for Plumbing. Students attend in-person only two days per week while continuing their studies via our eLearning platform. Lectures are delivered online so students maximize hands-on training when they are on campus.
While many schools require students to spend 4 to 5 days per week on campus, Hyphen's eLearning platform allows students to graduate faster with less days in school. This means that students can graduate and become a Plumber's Apprentice within 4 months as compared to other schools whose programs are 12–24 months long. Even though students spend less time on campus and graduate faster, their knowledge and competency matches those of students who study full time for 12 to 24 months. Hyphen's placement rate is consistently over 95% within 3 months of graduation.
The faster, more efficient program means lower tuition for students. Hyphen's Plumbing program costs $7,450 while most technical schools charge over $18,000 for their Plumbing program.
Total Tuition
$7,455. This includes 4 months of instruction, a $2,450 Plumbing kit, all state board license and registration fees. We use the latest edition of Cengage's Plumbing textbooks which you can purchase from Amazon.
Only $2,650 is due at enrollment. The balance of tuition can be spread out over the 4 month program. This equates to $1,190 per month until graduation.
We do not offer federal student loans or financial aid. However, most students will attest that this program is one of the best bang-for-your-buck programs in Orlando. Most students recoup their tuition within six months after graduation when working as a Plumber's Apprentice or as a handyman.
Career Opportunities
There is a dire shortage of plumbers in the State of Florida. Many plumbers are past retirement age, looking to groom an apprentice to continue their franchise.
Graduates typically find employment as plumber's apprentices, service plumbers, or maintenance technicians. With 8,000 hours of experience you can become a licensed journeyman plumber in Florida.
